Repairing Color Treated Mechanically Damaged Hair

Yes, blondes do have more fun. Unfortunately they also have more damage to their hair. For years I've tried lots of shampoos, conditioners and products trying to repair and keep my hair healthy.

Pureology Essential Repair Split End Treatment

Pureology Essential Repair is the newest line I have used. We just brought this line in at the salon and I was eager to try it from all the rave reviews it had. It did not disappoint. It left my hair soft and manageable, with little to no frizz after just blow drying. The leave-in split end treatment is suppose to close your split cuticle to allow your hair to grow longer: will report back with the results on that one!

Moroccan Oil Moisture Repair I have used for years. I love how silky soft and smooth it made my hair feel. I also had lots of compliments on the smell of my hair. If you're in the market for a good hydrating shampoo and conditioner I highly recommend these.

I have always used a leave-in "oil' or serum of some kind for added moisture, shine, and smooth fly-aways. Over the years I've tried BioSilk, Silk Infusion, Super Skinny Serum, and many more. Of all the ones I've tried thus far, these three are my favorites. They all contain Argan Oil. I have fine hair and I apply a quarter size to damp hair and they do not weigh down or make my hair look greasy. Rarely do I have to use it on dry hair anymore.

Hunting For The Perfect Mascara

Hunting for the perfect mascara is like hunting for the perfect man. I doubt they exist. I have short, stubby, stick straight eyelashes. The only way I can appear to have lashes is to wear falsies, but that just isn't do-able for everyday. Short of getting them colored and permed, here are a few of the long list of mascaras I have tried most recently to attempt to take my lashes to new heights.

Left to right:

L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes

Urban Decay Big Fatty

Benefit They're Real!

Revlon Lash Potion

MAC False Lash Extreme Black

MAC Plush Lash

Dior Diorshow

Maybelline Great Lash

Rubber Brush
Traditional Brush

My favorite of them all is surprisingly the L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes. It lifts, separates, lengthens, doesn't clump (unless I start caking it on). The trick I've started doing with this is curl, apply mascara, let dry, curl again. My lashes stay curled all day! They stay soft all day and is easily removed at night with a warm wash cloth.

Benefit They're Real! is very similar but is crazy hard to remove at night, even with eye makeup remover. I wake up with black residue under my eyes still in the morning. The Urban Decay Big Fatty I feel has too much product on the brush and clumps easy. It does help hold a curl all day but is also crazy hard to get off at night.

Revlon Lash Potion was nothing special, very natural looking and easily removed at night. MAC False Lash Extreme Black and MAC Plush Lash lengthen but don't hold my curl or add any volume to my lashes. They're both easily removed at night. Dior Diorshow is a good mascara but at a $30 price point, I can't justify that it's THAT good. Maybelline Great Lash may be tried and true for some but even though it's cheap I find its a waste of money.

I'm still on the hunt for that right mascara for my lashes, if you have any suggestions for me please let me know! I will continue to post more that I try!
